A coronavirus is one of a cluster of diseases named because it resembles a crown when viewed under a microscope. Coronaviruses vary in severity—some producing symptoms similar to a common cold, and others more dangerous, especially to people who are vulnerable because of age or health status. COVID-19, a more severe coronavirus, has recently spread to many countries including to the United States.

You Can Make a Difference: Volunteer for Hospice

Volunteers play a critical role in enhancing the end-of-life experiences of people facing serious illness and their families. Volunteers represent all life experiences and are drawn to hospice for a variety of reasons, but the defining characteristics that unite them are compassion and the desire to help others. Their many skills are matched to important tasks within our mission.

Dancing with the Rutland Stars Announces 2019 Cast

The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR) is excited to announce the return of its popular fundraiser, Dancing with the Rutland Stars, for its 9th year. The event will be held on October 12, 2019 at the Paramount Theatre in Rutland. The event benefits Kids on the Move and the Pediatric High-Tech program of the VNAHSR.

VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region Recognizes Employees of the Quarter

The Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR) named Sheena Caron as the Clinical Employee of the Quarter and Debra Stone as the Non-Clinical Employee of the Quarter.
Employees of the Quarter are selected from nominations submitted by colleagues and acknowledge employees who go above and beyond their regular job duties and best reflect the agency values of honesty, excellence, accountability, teamwork, leadership and helpfulness.

The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region held its annual employee recognition dinner honoring staff for their many years of service and outstanding commitment to the agency’s mission. Employees were celebrated for reaching milestone years of service and highlighted employees for specific awards: the Employee of the Year, Unforgettable Employee and HEALTH Matters Award Winners.
