Death, dying, and loss are more than medical events – they are human experiences that touch every one of us. The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR) believes that everyone in their journey deserves care that is aligned with their beliefs, wishes, and values.
To make this a reality and create a more compassionate community, the VNA & Hospice is hosting the first in a series of community events engaging people in conversations and education about end-of-life care. The premier event, Exploring Life’s Journey, will be held on Thursday, May 9 at Southside Steakhouse from 5-7pm. Hors d’oeuvres and light fare will be served.
The event will feature a series of activities to help people understand hospice care and help determine their values and wishes for this phase of life and the peace of mind that is gained by communicating their wishes. The event will feature informational sessions by VNA & Hospice and Foley Cancer Center Medical Director, Dr. Allan Eisemann and Nicole Moran, MSN, BA, RN, Hospice & Palliative Care Director and others.
“We envision a community in which death and dying are recognized as a natural part of life,” says Nicole Moran, MSN, BA, RN, Hospice and Palliative Care Director of the VNAHSR. “Whether you want to learn for yourself, or care for a loved one, we invite you to join us to connect with others and explore together what it means to live and die well.”
