Hospice Singers

As part of our hospice care, the Serenity Singers of Bennington and the Trillium Hospice Chorus of Rutland offer songs of healing and comfort at the bedside of hospice patients as a loving gift to those who need comfort and support at their most vulnerable time.

From spirituals, hymns, folk songs and old standards, these volunteer vocalists touch the hearts of patients and families in immeasurable ways. For many years the groups have been sharing their love of music with hospice patients and other community members in private homes, nursing homes, hospital rooms and at memorial services. Their presence tells people they are not alone at the end-of-life and that they are still part of the community.

The singers offer a choice of music according to the patient’s musical preference and physical or spiritual needs. They visit in small groups of three to eight singers, singing a cappella or three or four-part harmony or in rounds.

Hospice Serenity Singers
Thank you for giving your time and talents to sing for us at Mother’s memorial. Your ministry to Mother and our family will never be forgotten. I can’t imagine remembering Mother without having you there to sing. The music was beautiful and so many commented and enjoyed it.

Andrea B.C. and family

Thank you for your unflagging support and kind condolences during the weeks while we cared for our Mother and mourned the difficult and final stages of her life. The singers were beautiful and a special gift that mom enjoyed as did we.
