Bereavement Support groups often allow participants to process their grief, share and receive helpful coping strategies, and create a community with others walking a similar path.

Volunteers represent all life experiences and are drawn to hospice for a variety of reasons, but the defining characteristics that unite them are compassion and the desire to help others.

Employees of the Quarter are selected from nominations submitted by peers and acknowledge employees who go above and beyond their typical job duties and best reflect the agency values of honesty, excellence, accountability, teamwork, leadership, and helpfulness.

The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region, (VNAHSR), one of the state’s largest providers of skilled home health and hospice services, recently announced the Employee of the Year and HEALTH Matters Award Winners. Brian Fleming, PT, was recognized as VNAHSR’s Employee of the Year.

The Employee of the Year Award recognizes an employee whose work exemplifies outstanding performance, service excellence, and demonstration of our core values. In his multiple nominations as Employee of the Year, Brian was recognized for the extraordinary care he provides to his patients every single day. “Brian has repeatedly been described as knowledgeable, superb, efficient, and always on schedule. Brian’s patients express how happy they are that he took the time to explain everything to them and that he has given them some of the best medical information and care they’ve ever received. Parent Grief Support Offered in Bennington

The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region is offering a new monthly grief support group specifically for those who have lost a child of any age. The group is facilitated by Lori Rogers, Spiritual Care Coordinator at the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region. The group will meet every third Tuesday of every month, beginning February 21st at the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region, located at the Putnam Block, 335 Main St., Office C in Bennington from 6-7 pm. The option to join the group virtually is also available. Group support meetings are free and open to the public. RSVP to 802.442.0540. Masks are required.
