The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region, (VNAHSR), one of the state’s largest providers of skilled home health and hospice services, recognized Lisa Cramer, RN as Clinical Employee of the Quarter and James (Jim) Albright, HR Benefit & Leave Coordinator, as Non-Clinical Employee of the Quarter.
VNAHSR has a new discussion group designed to address a topic many have difficulty talking about: death & dying. The first meeting is on 1/26/2024 at 10:00 am at Prospect Coffee House in North Bennington.
VNAHSR provides training for those interested in becoming hospice volunteers. Training will be held on Friday, January 19 from 8am – 4pm in the Casella Conference Room at the Rutland office, located at 7 Albert Cree Drive. Training is free and open to individuals 16 years of age and older. Volunteers need to pass a background check. No previous hospice and health care experience is required. Pre-registration and proof of COVID-19 vaccination are required.
The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region, (VNAHSR), one of the state’s largest providers of skilled home health and hospice services, is proud to announce the recognition of two exceptional employees of Q3 2023, Karyn Hunter, MSW, Clinical Employee of the Quarter and David Jacobs, Non-Clinical Employee of the Quarter.
In a joint statement, Franklin County Home Health Agency (FCHHA) and VNAHSR announced that this decision was a result of months of collaboration between the two agencies.
Like many home health agencies across the country, FCHHA has been affected by numerous challenges, including the low reimbursement rates of Medicaid and Medicare programs and ongoing funding cuts. Enduring such margin pressures is compounded by the challenges of providing home health services in a state as rural as Vermont.
The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region invites the community to attend a free memorial service on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 3pm at the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse on 108 School Street in Bennington. Through music, poetry, art and fellowship, this special ceremony, open to individuals of all ages and faiths, will help pay tribute to loved ones who have passed away. “The Winter Memorial Service is a beloved tradition that offers anyone in the community a chance to recognize someone who has passed away,” said Mary Pleasant, Hospice Volunteer Services Coordinator for the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region. “The service is an opportunity to reflect and honor loved ones in a meaningful way.”
The Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR) will host its Annual Tree of Remembrance Ceremony at the Franklin Conference Center, located in the Howe Center in Rutland on Tuesday, December 5 at 6 pm. The event will be held in person for the first time since 2019, and is free and open to the public. For inclement weather, a snow date of Tuesday, December 12 at 6 pm has been set.
VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR) is thrilled to announce its return to full activity of its Hospice Choirs. Trillium Choir in Rutland County and Serenity Singers in Bennington County are now seeking new participants – regardless of age, gender, or talent level – to join their ranks. The purpose of Hospice Choirs is to provide comfort, solace, and joy to patients and their families. Members of the choir offer songs of healing and compassion at the bedside of Hospice patients as a loving gift to those who need support at their most vulnerable time.
