Hospice Choirs Invite New Members to Join

VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR) is thrilled to announce its return to full activity of its Hospice Choirs. Trillium Choir in Rutland County and Serenity Singers in Bennington County are now seeking new participants – regardless of age, gender, or talent level – to join their ranks.

The purpose of Hospice Choirs is to provide comfort, solace, and joy to patients and their families. Members of the choir offer songs of healing and compassion at the bedside of Hospice patients as a loving gift to those who need support at their most vulnerable time.

“The power of music to heal and uplift spirits is well-documented, and our choirs aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can find solace through song,” said Mary Pleasant, VNAHSR’s Hospice Volunteer Services Coordinator. “Joining the Trillium Choir or Serenity Singers comes with numerous benefits for both participants and the community.” By becoming a member, individuals will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Hospice patients and their families. Singing in a choir can be a cathartic and therapeutic experience, offering a sense of purpose and connection that extends beyond oneself.

Members will have the chance to improve their vocal range, gain performance experience, and build lasting friendships with fellow choir members who share a common passion for music. Whether you are an experienced singer, or someone who simply loves to sing in the shower, VNAHSR believes that everyone has a unique voice that can bring comfort and joy to those in need.

To express interest in joining either Hospice choir, please call Mary Pleasant at 802.442.0540 or email mary.pleasant@vnahsr.org
