The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region invites players to the fifth annual Golf Day Fore VNA, presented by Berkshire Bank on August 19, 2022, at the Mount Anthony Country Club at 180 Country Club Drive in Bennington, VT. The format for the tournament is a four-person scramble and features an on-course BBQ lunch, tee prizes, and raffles. Registration begins at 11:30am with a shotgun start at 1pm.
The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR), one of the state’s largest providers of skilled home health and hospice services, recognized Barbara Goodwin, a phlebotomist, as Clinical Employee of the Quarter and Sherry Townsend, Administrative Assistant as Non-Clinical Employee of the Quarter.
The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region announced that Berkshire Bank, has donated $10,000 in support of home health and hospice programs at the agency. “We are so pleased to support this important organization, focused on the health of many of the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Lori Kiely, Berkshire Bank’s Vermont Regional President. “At Berkshire Bank, we understand that physical and emotional wellness go hand in hand with financial wellness, so we applaud the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region for their great work. We are proud to be a partner.”
The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR), one of the state’s largest skilled home health and hospice service providers, recently announced the Employee of the Year and HEALTH Matters Award Winners. Wendy Daley, RN, a hospice nurse, was recognized as VNAHSR’s Employee of the Year. Other award recipients were honored as part of the HEALTH Matters recognition program, an agency-wide initiative whose recipients emulate the core values of Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Leadership, Teamwork, and Helpfulness. HEALTH Matters award recipients are nominated by their peers for consistently demonstrating the agency’s core values. This year’s winners include John Campbell, recently retired hospice volunteer coordinator for Honesty; Lyane Adam-Murnaghan, Physical Therapist and Clinical Manager for Excellence; Janelle Cummings, Physical Therapist for Accountability; Kate Lawrence, RN, WOCN for Leadership; Amanda Van Dien, Case Manager for Long-Term Care and Claire Ericksen, RN in Pediatric Hi-tech for Helpfulness. In addition, Customer Service Representatives Eileen Allen and Patricia Andrews shared the agency’s Unforgettable Award.
The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR) will offer an eight-week grief support program beginning on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 with two separate sessions each Tuesday at 10 am and 6pm in the Casella Conference Room at the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region’s Rutland office on 7 Albert Cree Drive.
Due to continued uncertainty with COVID-19, the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region, (VNAHSR) will postpone the popular fundraising event, Dancing with the Rutland Stars for 2022.
The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region, (VNAHSR) is pleased to announce that the Vermont Department of Health and the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports recently awarded the 2022 Governor’s Excellence in Worksite Wellness-Silver Level Award for the agency’s commitment to their employees’ health and wellness in the workplace.
VNAHSR provides training for those interested in becoming hospice volunteers. Training will be held on Friday, March 25th from 8am – 4pm in Bennington. Training is free and open to individuals 16 years of age and older. Volunteers need to pass a background check. No previous hospice and health care experience is required. Pre-registration, proof of COVID-19 vaccination and mask wearing during training are required.
Clinical Employee of the Quarter, Brian Fleming, PT was honored for his commitment to excellence and attention to detail in managing patient care. Non-Clinical Employee of the Quarter Pamela Lancour was recognized for helpfulness and teamwork.

Wood Foundation toward a respite fund that will provide 96 hours a month of respite care to families receiving pediatric high-tech services.
