The VNAHSR is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to be a member of our Maternal Child Health team, as part of our Strong Families Vermont Sustained Home Visiting program in Rutland County.

Strong Families Vermont is a high-quality, evidence based nurse-led structured program for families needing extra support in their parenting journey. It is delivered as part of a comprehensive, integrated approach to services for young children and their families. Strong Families Vermont uses a tried service model encompassing primary health care and more specialized services that families may need. MECSH supports families to learn the skills to build their capacity and source the resources they need to adapt and self-manage their parenting journey, and parent effectively despite the difficulties and challenges they face.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide new client intake meetings for potential clients
  • Build up to a 30 client caseload
  • Provide nursing assessments, life-skill, prenatal, and child-care education for prenatal and new mothers
  • Follow Strong Families Vermont guidelines and regulations for documentation of interventions

Qualifications:

  • BSN Degree required
  • Valid Vermont Registered Nursing License
  • Valid Driver’s License

Experience:

  • Experience in breastfeeding support (preferred)
  • Experience in women’s health (preferred)
  • Experience in maternal-infant interaction (preferred)
