Quality Clinical Educator

The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region is seeking a Quality Clinical Educator (QCE).  The QCE will be responsible for overseeing the orientation of and ongoing training of clinical staff to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care in an efficient and cost effective manner to patients in a home setting.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

1. Oversees clinical preceptor program and assures clinical competency checklists are current in accordance with homecare standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
2. Provides one-on-one orientation and instruction to new clinicians in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.  Serves as an in-house consultant to assist clinical teams.
3. Assures technical competency by assessing learning needs, coordinating learning opportunities, and evaluating the effect of training and education on practice in conjunction with the preceptor and Clinical Manager.
4. Effectively designs learning experiences and patient care assignments for new staff and current staff as necessary.
5. Performs home visits with clinical staff as requested by preceptors or Clinical Manager to educate on clinical practice and/or documentation.
6. Performs chart audits and provides education and/or recommendations based on trending to Clinical
7. Organizes, schedules, and manages on-going clinical education/in-services to include, but not be limited to in-service calendars, LNA in-services.

 Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a minimum of Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
• Two years home care experience and/or previous case management experience in a home care setting required. Prior clinical acute care nursing experience a plus.
• Experience teaching adults in a clinical setting preferred
