Giving Back with Weekly Donated Meals for VNAHSR Hospice Families
Serving More Than Meals, Supporting Hospice Care
The Dorset Inn, established in 1796, is Vermont’s oldest continuously operated Inn. Not only is it renowned locally and nationally for its exceptional cooking by its guests, but VNAHSR’s hospice patients and families have also enjoyed The Dorset Inn’s weekly donated meals for the last four years.
For Executive Chef, Neil Philip, he has a close relationship with hospice – his wife is a hospice registered nurse for another agency. She and Neil are very aware of the toll hospice can take on everyone involved, and are grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand when needed. Neil added, “Many times in my life I’ve received a helping hand, and it just seems like the right thing to do to put that positive energy back into the world.”
When asked why support the VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region, Neil’s response was concise, yet powerful, “Because it is Vermonters helping Vermonters.”
Thank you Neil, and everyone at The Dorset Inn for helping the Vermonters we serve in our Hospice program!
