Serenity Singers — Comforting Hospice Patients Through Music
February 5, 2025 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Bringing Peace and Comfort to Hospice Patients Through the Healing Power of Song
As part of our hospice care, the Serenity Singers offer songs of healing and comfort at the bedside of hospice patients as a loving gift to those who need comfort and support at their most vulnerable time.
From spirituals, hymns, folk songs and old standards, these volunteer vocalists touch the hearts of patients and families in immeasurable ways. For many years the groups have been sharing their love of music with hospice patients and other community members in private homes, nursing homes, hospital rooms and at memorial services. Their presence tells people they are not alone at the end-of-life and that they are still part of the community.
The singers offer a choice of music according to the patient’s musical preference and physical or spiritual needs. They visit in small groups of three to eight singers, singing a cappella or three or four-part harmony or in rounds.
For more information please call 800.422.054 or email mary.pleasant@vnahsr.org.
Serenity Singers meet 3:30p – 5pm, every other Wednesday in Bailey Hall, Ice Pond Road in East Arlington, VT.
